Young's Hill

In Yuba County on Beaver Creek three miles north of Camptonville. It was named for William Young, the first claimant about 1851, or possibly for Nicodemus Young. It was known as a large camp in 1852. In 1855 Charles De Long became part owner of a store there. At the time there were three hotels, three stores, four saloons, two dry goods stores, two butcher shops, two blacksmith shops, and a theater. It received water from the Sierra Mountain Water Company in 1858, but went into decline shortly after 1858.
