Leland Pauly takes a walk at the probable site of the Florida House, Madame Romargi's first establishment along the packtrail to Downieville. It's said the Florida House was a place of ill-repute. William Bull Meek, Camptonville merchant, knew the area well as a packer and stage driver, and he was a friend to Mrs. Romargi. |
