Coaster Wagon Wheels

During the Depression, coaster wagon wheels were hard to come by.

The rubber tires wore out first, which left the opposing disks of the wheel to separate and impossible to mount. We needed these wheels for the coaster cars that were so fun to ride.

I then discovered I could make a wheel out of a 2" by 6" block of wood but 2" by 8" were better til the holes for the axles wore out. I would use a hand saw and make an octagon. The very steep slope of the streets in C'ville allowed the roundness to soon be formed with usage.
