Cherries

We school kids, during cherry season, just had to climb Hanson's trees as we headed for the old swimming 'Scout Hole' in Oregon Creek.

Leland, at the top of the tree ,spotted Ted Havey first and warned the others as he slithered down the tree. The rest of us followed over the fence to hide behind the cut bank of the Pike City Road. Harriet whispered that Cynthia was still up in the tree!

We watched as Ted came through the gate, approached the tree and Cynthia dropped from the bottom branch, right in front of him! Soon Cynthia came skipping over to us. "What did he say?" we asked. "Oh, he said, be careful, you might fall out of that tree!"
