New Beginnings in Camptonville 1933

Mother was apparently hired for the Camptonville Union School District by word of mouth.

When time came for the move, "That Man" appeared with a borrowed stake-side truck and moved us. My sisters and I were piled on top of the load and could hear the creak and squawk of the wood-spoke wheels as we twisted over the mountain roads to our new home.

We moved into the most westerly house on the one-block long Spencer Street where we rented from the Hansons for the first three years in Camptonville.
